“I’ve always had a passion for writing. As a child, I loved to read. Children’s books were replaced with young adult novels, and by the age of twelve, I was reading books like Margaret Mitchell’s 'Gone with the Wind' and, perhaps just as influential but of a totally different genre, Judith Krantz’s 'Scruples.' I have always been drawn to strong, independent people with equally strong personalities that matched my own. As I read stories of these strong-willed people facing and overcoming adversities, I realized I wanted to write those stories…stories with very real, life-like characters. I also wanted to write about love and relationships, because deep down, I’m just a hopeful romantic. Over the years, a few stories developed, and finally, during one of those low periods of life we all experience, the inspiration for my first novel 'Lost Souls,' was born…I wanted to write about love and the hope and optimism for the future it can bring with it. My intention was not to write just a LGBTQ+ love story, but to write a love story that anyone may be able to relate to, and enjoy reading…something that transcended norms, yet addressed very real, normal hurdles and obstacles. I did not want to compartmentalize my writing, my characters, or my ability to reach readers of only one persuasion. Love is love, after all, and in the end, love wins…”
- Jason Paige Dumont
Jason Paige Dumont lives in rural Southern Pennsylvania at his home and sanctuary, Oxford Hill. Growing up at the foot of the Catoctin Mountains in Maryland, rolling hills and fresh air have always brought him happiness. He lives with his very spoiled Miniature Schnauzers, and when he is not writing, he enjoys home improvement projects, tending to his flower gardens and small fruit orchard, and you can often find him in the garage or driveway, fussing over and maintaining his small fleet of Mercedes Benz automobiles, working out in his home gym, or researching content for his next blog post or book project. A hopeful romantic, Jason wishes upon a star every night and hopes that one day, an imperfectly perfect man and soulmate will enter his life, and they will fall in love together, under one of those stars.
After years of searching for my purpose, I realized I was never going to find it in a traditional Monday-Friday job. That pays the bills, but I was left feeling unfulfilled and empty, because none of those jobs were my "purpose." Once I realized my purpose didn't have to be what paid the mortgage (although one day that is the goal!) I felt free, and that is when I started writing. When people ask me what I do for a living, I tell them, "I'm an author."

"At your birth, a seed is planted. That seed is your uniqueness. It wants to grow, transform itself, and flower to its full potential. It has a natural, assertive energy to it. Your life’s task is to bring that seed to flower, to express your uniqueness through your work. You have a destiny to fulfill. The stronger you feel and maintain it, as a force, a voice, or in whatever form, the greater your chance for fulfilling this life’s task and achieving mastery."
